The sound card is compatible with the Crest Train Engineer Revolution from Aristocraft, whether powered from the track or using an on-board battery.

On steam locos the chuff will accelerate as the loco starts and speeds up. The whistle will sound each time the 1 function key is pressed and for as long as you press it. In American locos, the bell can sound automatically at low speeds leaving the remaining five functions for firebox glow, couplers, etc.

On diesel locos the engine will tickover when static and will then accelerate as the loco starts and speeds up. The horn will sound each time the 1 function key is pressed and for as long as you press it. In American locos, the bell can sound automatically at low speeds leaving the remaining five functions for cab lights, couplers, etc.

The photo below shows a compact installation in a small loco. Power comes from a 14.4 volt battery pack made up of rechargeable AA batteries. The MyLocoSound soundcard and Revolution custom interface card are mounted on the battery pack using roof repair silicon. The Revolution controller then plugs in on top leaving free access to the soundcard trimpots for adjustment. The terminal block ahead of the batteries connects the front and back headlamps. The wiring diagram is shown at the bottom of this page.
